PROVEMONT

Provemont began as a settlement to French settlers arriving from Canada in the mid nineteenth century. This settlement lying on the narrowing of North and South Lake Leelanau is today known as Lake Leelanau, Michigan. This location prospered in agriculture, vineyards, and logging.
